  • Pray for Ireland

    Pray for Ireland

    From Bishop Kemme:  On May 25, the people of Ireland will vote on their 8th amendment, which guarantees life to both the mother and the baby. If repealed, Ireland will have abortion on demand.

    I am asking the people of the diocese to voluntarily choose one day between now and May 25 to fast for this intention using the traditional Ash Wednesday/Good Friday guidelines for fasting. Please lift up your hearts in prayer for the unborn of Ireland by offering fasting and holy hours of adoration. Let us unite spiritually with our prolife brothers and sisters in Ireland so that the unborn there will know the protection of law for succeeding generations.  Thank you and God bless you.

  • Month of Mary

    Month of Mary

    May is the month to honor Virgin Mary, As the Mother of God, the Virgin Mary has a unique position among the saints, indeed, among all creatures. She is exalted, yet still one of us. The Church honors her as the Mother of God, looks to her as a model of perfect discipleship, and asks for her prayers to God on our behalf.

“I have come, not to be served, but to serve”

Just as the members of a family come together to help one of their own, a stewardship parish family serves those who are hurting or have needs, are doubting or seeking salvation. Parishioners seek the parish family as a primary community to serve and be served—to give and to receive. The members of a stewardship parish recognize that they also have a need to give beyond their own members. They have a need to serve and to give in the diocese, the community and the universal church. Service, by those of all ages, provides the opportunity to practice hospitality, prayer, and formation.

“For I was hungry and you gave Me food;
I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;
Naked, and you clothed Me;
I was sick, and you visited Me;
I was in prison, and you came to Me…

…Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these
Brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.”

Matthew 25:35-40
